Silvia García estudió la carrera de Letras en la UDLA en Cholula, Puebla y en la UNAM, además complementó sus estudios en Inglaterra. Hoy día vive en Valle de Bravo, y recientemente formó una iniciativa Waldorf en Acatitlán con un grupo de familias, así como una ludoteca llamada La Canica. Este conjunto de familias entendieron el valor de ese espacio y de la importancia de la libertad del juego. Promovieron un experimento educativo basado en compartir experiencias personales y estimular la curiosidad nata de los niños. Ahora el ranchito en Acatitlán es un espacio de comunidad, donde otras familias han sentido la misma necesidad de explorar fuera de la escuela y construir un ejercicio comunitario para aprender todos juntos a colaborar y construir distintos espacios con la intención de generar profundos cambios en la sociedad.
